Based on manga and set in post World War II Tokyo, a handful of residents are followed over one year as Tokyo Tower is being built. Norifumi Suzuki runs a small auto repair shop, where he lives with his wife, son, and female apprentice. Despite their hardships, the film has many light-hearted moments and nostalgia for the "good old days.”
