From 1965 to the early 1970s, a family’s journey takes them from their humble village to a modern apartment, paralleling Singapore’s growth. Zhao Di is driven from her husband's home and gives birth to twins, Shun Fatt and Su-Fang. Unfortunately, Su-Fang is born with two moles on her face, a sign of misfortune and must be given away.
