After the death of her cousin Tomoko, reporter Reiko learns of stories about a videotape that kills anyone who sees it exactly seven days after viewing. She initially discounts them as rumors, but when she discovers that Tomoko's friend, who watched the video with her, died at exactly the same moment, she starts to investigate, endangering herself and her son.
