Two lonely young teachers are assigned to the same remote rural school one year apart. The woman is assigned first, writing her thoughts in a diary. She is then transferred to another school, but leaves the diary. A male substitute teacher arrives after she leaves and finds the diary, falling in love with her after reading it.
